Fellow Europa-eans
I have been using the appalling weather in the UK to catch up on some
paperwork and have been checking that all Service Bulletins etc have been
complied with/diarised. Can you help with the following:
1) SB-912-030 - with the Europa airbox supported off the engine mount this
would seem to negate the need for this SB action. Do you agree?
2) SB-912-042 - whilst this is Mandatory the SB is open to interpretation in
that it states (sect 1.5) Compliance - "In case of operating
malfunction,....." How have people added this to their engine log book?
3) ASB-912-051 - this does not appear to have been issued for ULS engines as
it does not appear on the documentation for my engine number. So does it
apply to us?
I have been checking on these Bulletins as they arise and yet each time I
download the summaries it appears to give conflicting information. Does
anyone else have this concern or experience.
Regards
Steve Pitt G-SMDH

Not really. My reading of that SB is that it only applies if you have
Rotax's airbox fitted.
There has been at least one case of failed carb sockets with the EAL airbox
fitted.
See:

However, this doesn't necessarily mean that it does not happen with the
Rotax airbox as well!
