Good point Ernie and something that I've already considered. If need be, I can always switch to a straight weight oil. Appreciate the advice.

While on the subject of oil accumulation in the lower cylinders... I've noticed that when I DO NOT perform the high power run just prior to shut down I get much less oil in those cylinders. I started noticing this last fall and decided to stop doing the high power run on shut down. Since I stopped that procedure, I now have very little oil dripping from the exhausts and intake drains.

Jon, sell the case of oil. From the time you purchased it until now, you can make a buck or two. Swap it for something like a car of beer we can drink!!! Need your opinions... I've always used Aeroshell 100 straight 50 weight oil. However, the local oil company where I've always bought my oil went out of business. Through another local company I can get the multi viscosity Phillips 20w50, but not sure about using it in a round motor, especially in the hot environment of the SE US. What say you? JB
