Aside from a couple of posts about a model 3 and GSC Prop there has been
No messages about Kitfoxs in several months. Where has everyone gone? Seems like the list died

Mike, Yes, it is too bad. It's been this way for quite awhile. Maybe Team Kitfox is active, but I don't like the format of that site,.as I have previously said. Pass words user names, etc. cumbersome and convoluted compared to this site. Progress you know, designed by progressives   I don't think I could have rebuilt my plane without this site. I still solicit on this site when I need parts. There are still a few of us that monitor the site.

I think the forum format is much better...........
The daily digest here is nice and serves a great purpose.

To be honest the attitudes of a few made everyone leave.

still a great bunch of folks here -gotta switch sooner or later..........
bt matronics runs a forum style as well as this list .........

any forum you can subscribe and get alerts on the topics.

New Kitfox builder here, I used the matronics while building and RV and it was very active and helpfully, I monitor it for the Kitfox but mostly use the teamkitfox forum due the activity and help-fullness of the users, I mostly want to see pictures of build stages for reference

I am still monitoring this list from here, in Norway. But my Kitfox 3 is still flying without problems so, I am not a frequent poster!

I love shooting reindeers from my Kitfox but I had to give up. I once shot Rudolf and Santa was very crossed with me. I got no Christmas present that year!

 ... Cheers,
 Michel

Years ago there was a ton of activity on Kitfox list. It was a time of models II, II, & IVs along with Rotax 582 engines. I now spend time in the Kitfox archives as needed. I have a model II with a 582 and a Warp drive 3-blade prop. The kit, #399, is 24 years old. Either all the questions have been answered or the delivery of information has changed. Perhaps it’s a little of both.

I’ve looked at the other Kitfox website and find it somewhat harder for searching and chasing conversation threads. Van’s RV has gone more to Facebook and I miss the quarterly RVator documents.

  An early Merry Christmas everyone...

  Joe

Joe- I agree with you on the archive aspect of Matronics list.
TKF pulls some stuff as they feel it is old info ........... I told them the other day is silly as it could be useful information for someone down the road.

Everyone has there opinions and alot left matronics as the tone oxf a few of the moderation team here just started to get a bit cocky.
Some cocky over at TKF as well but they all hidden behind there aliases.

You can just figure is all the western USA guys for the most part that were here using their real name.
Maybe I should put up a forum for you on kitfoxflyer.com

I would never ask for money as I would have ads on it. No pop ups just google ads like my youtube videos.

Cheers, Dave aka kitfoxflyer or Dave F

Yeah, the moderators here are real SoB's. They don't allow you to be rude, or abusive, or anything. It's awful. Although I have a hard time believing the moderators over on TKF hide behind aliases. I can't believe Steve would allow that.

Yep. We are planted here for life, Patrick. Flying season is over for me. I had an issue this past season thhough, after mounting new Kingfox tires.,The airplane was frequently yawing to the left on touchdown resulting in a number of "excursions" into the grass (always to the left).  Been thinking about why.

While swapping out the tires, I couldn't get the bead to reseat on the left one so took it to a tire store. I've since learned that they used "alot" of bead seating compound to get the job done. I've concluded that I didn't suddenly forget how to land a taildragger, rather that the main gear has likely become unbalanced due to a ton of goo slapping around in the left tire. I'll have to remove the tire again, clean it out and remount reseating the bead myself useing Dave's you-tube "explosion" method. Tried that with a trailer tire last Summer and it works pretty slick. Stay tuned!

Here is a trick I learned way back for getting tires to reseat the bead: With the tire on the wheel, take a 1” or 2” wide jacking tie down strap and wrap it around the tire down its center line. Then tighten the strap by jacking it until the bead is tight to the wheel. Then put air into it through the stem. You will hear the pop when it seats tight.
I use this method on golf cart wheel changes as well as my Model 2 Fox.

Marco, Do you think that a different tire weight would cause a veering
problem? It would be my guess that something is rubbing or binding that
wheel or toe in or out. Glad to hear someone was successful "with
exploding" tires on to a rim. I have seen video's of it, but never tried it
 myself.
