Thanks, Deke...they weigh just about 15 pounds each...about 1-2 lbs
heavier than the old ones. I'd rather have a few extra lbs aboard
than a broken ski. By "designed" I think you mean "borrowed ideas"
but I'll accept designed. : )

Lynn, great job on the skis! I really do like the way you designed
them and they appear to be plenty strong, yet light, for your
airplane. You're a "real" experimenter. Kudos.

Pulling the ski in enough to see the stub axle and the mount would be great.

Lynn:
I guess you lost the desire to see the OAT at less than 0 F again

I suspect that it isn't too often that what we design doesn't have some part
of it borrowed. Even the folding wings on our airplanes was borrowed from
the 1930s, the flaperons from the Germans, etc. It's the ongoing
improvement and innovation that counts.

Yeah....been there, done that : ) I was at my hangar this morning
and the OAT on the plane showed 13°F, when it was 7 outdoors...I
should have gone there when the temp at home showed minus 9

Ah yes, the Stuka Ju87, as I recall....got an unfinished model
hanging in my workshop. I loved that plane because it was so damn
ugly. And not that I liked what Hitler was doing, but his idea (at
least he got credit for it) of the landing gear-mounted siren to
psych the enemy was brilliant for awhile, then they got used to it
and paid it no attention...but we digress...or I do. : )
