The UK CAA have confirmed this week that all professional licence holders should by now have received their English language certificates, and that the “private” licence categories are now being processed at the rate of 500 per day.

Its nice to know I will get a certificate so I can legally use English.

But only to Level 4; you'll need to be revalidated every 3 years, just in case you forget the language I suppose.

My son has just received his new JAR PPL with Level 6 Language Proficiency added to the licence to be effective from 4th March 2008 (but sent on the 14th March). However I have not received mine although my CAA licence has been in existence for 12 years longer than his. Has anyone else (with a CAA licence) received a reissue?
Surely this requirement was known months in advance so why have we not had our licences before the operational date? Does any one have an answer? It's a good job that i was not planning a foreign flight before now.
