G'day all,
I have decided to mount my GPS antenna on the turtledeck. After drilling the holes for the windshield support tube, I know how thick the forward half of the turtle deck is. So I decided to install the antenna just aft of the transition step. I drilled the first hole last night only to find that the deck thickness is still around 1/2" and the screw studs on the antenna are too short.
I have just ordered some 1/4" 4130 Steel tube to tap for the antenna stud screws, but it is on back order. Has anyone else mounted the antenna in this location and if so, how did you extend the antenna studs?
Cheers,
Ron
