It depends on the certification of the aircraft AND the propeller. On
Yak's and CJ's with the stock propellers, no.

Warbird - a warbird can be certificated in the standard category or the
experimental category. It is highly unlikely a standard category
warbird would have a non-type certificated prop on it. ie: experimental
prop, unless it has a field approval for the prop (FAA Form 337) or an
STC has been issued for the prop on that specific engine and airframe.
An experimental aircraft, which includes warbirds, can have a non- type
certificated prop (experimental) or a type certificated prop in which
case the prop must be maintained IAW whatever the type certificate says
and any AD's that have been issued for the prop.
