Thanks for all the advice, problem did turn out to be hydraulic lock, I had never felt one as severe before, thus my concern for something mechanical.
Caution prevailed, removed spark plug.
Carl Hayes (M14P_Inc.) suggested that perhaps the the engine had stopped with the crank pin and master rod bearing directly over #5 cylinder allow ing oil to drip into the cylinder and piston, oil could then migrate through the rings and into the combustion chamber, with that piston on the compression stroke ( valves closed ) oil was trapped.
In retrospect we could have turned the engine backwards to open the intake valve draining the oil through our intake manifold drain system.
Basic problem was oil reverse flow valve failed
Have now sent our oil pump to M14-P-INC for their modification, to a ball and spring valve and seat to replace the original poppet type.

Caution on turning engine over backwards, especially with YAK-50's.

Due to the "cant" of the engine, the oil runs out into the intake tubes.
If you have an intake drain kit installed, and give it enough time, that
oil will eventually come out via the intake drains.

If you do not wait long enough, the oil will be "gulped" back into the
cylinder and you stand a chance of bending a rod THAT way.

Great to hear it was as simple as that.
