The main gear on my 1968 Piper Arrow has about 0.2 inches of fore and
aft movement (measured at the axel) when the aircraft is up on jacks.
There are no obvious signs of damage or wear, but I'm not sure if this
movement is normal or an indication of excessive wear. The service
manual does not list any tolerances for this function.
Normally, I would not expect this much movement, but I'm not sure what's
typical for this model aircraft. If anyone has experience that they
could share I would appreciate it.
