Greetings listers.

It is regrettable that it has become necessary for me to involve this
list in a an exchange that should have been resolved on the CorvAircraft
list.

I have been threatened,by Mark Langford (the owner of the CorVaircraft
list), with expulsion from CorVaircraft for attempting to defend myself
against William Wynne's attacks on my character on CorVaircraft.

I believe I have a right to make the facts known, so I have turned to
other lists on the topic of using the Corvair engine for flight that I
belong to and where other members of CorVaircraft may also be members.

If this topic in not of interest to you, please pardon the intrusion.

Raymond,

Do you have a phone number and a time I can call you tomorrow? I read
your post
and I would guess that I can understand your tone better if I call you
and listen in person.
I will be glad to hear you out, I am interested in avoiding any
misunderstanding.

Thank you.

Greetings Mr Wynne,

I would be more than glad to talk with you if you think it is
necessary to clarify our differences.

I will attempt to clarify my opinion and leave the decision of
weather or not there is any value speaking real time to you.

After reading your posts on Corvaircraft for a number of years,
corresponding with you on previous topics, and reading several of
your publications, I have formed an opinion, right or wrong, about
your opinions regarding information flow.

To put it bluntly, you seem to be a top down control advocate. We'll
tell you what to say and how to say it, so as not to scare or confuse
the little people. You have every right to believe that is the
correct approach.

My experience is that this method of information managements best
serves politicians, lawyers, sales people, and spin doctors.

I understand your desire to put the best possible face on the
activity that you value and provides you an income. I believe it is
better to allow all information, in what ever form, flow and require
people to exercise their personal responsibility to sort through the
information and make an informed decision.

Admitted, it hasn't worked well in our political system, but it still
is the best system in my opinion.

Regarding the post under discussion, the recommendation not to use
the term "ignition failure" because someone might imagine a scary
scenario is absurd. I think the terms "forced landing","broken
crank" or "deer strike" are every bit as scary, but reflective of the
events.
I recognize you as "The Corvair Authority" and value your opinion on
all things Corvair. On all other things I will continue to express
my opinion as I believe best, and I believe it will continue to
conflict with yours.

Reasonable people may disagree. I hope this clarifies the differences
I see between us.

Concerning a telephone conversation, I will not be available
tomorrow, 3/25, but expect to be around all weekend. You seem to be
a night owl, as am I, so in the evening is fine. Please let me know
if you would still like talk and what time is best for you.

My number is 218.273.6252

Disagreeably yours Smile,

Raymond Julian Kettle River, MN

Raymond,

You have an opinion, your entitled to it, but let me say that there
is probably someitng in my tone that just makes you rapidly
categorize me with people you dislike. If you had met me in person,
like a lot of other people have, you might not have type the note
below;

Was there anything I ever wrote about personal responsibility or
anything else you ever liked? Probably not I'm guessing.

You are correct, I think you have a very strong opinion of me, and I
don't think that it is a good one, and I am not likely to change it
in a phone call.

If you found yourself swayed at all, wouldn't you just think I was
putting some spin on things or using sales tactics? I am guessing
once you feel strongly, that you don't change your mind.

Colleges are about teaching people things and having a good time.
When I read your note about college 20 I actually thought
"Good. Maybe he has decided that I am not such an insufferable jerk,
maybe we can have a good time and he will like a bit more of who I
am rather than who he thinks I am"

After reading your note, I am not so sure that you are easily swayed.
Did you understand that I am running the college and that
Roy is only the host? Would you really have a good time with, or
learn anything from me if you have the impression that I regard
any one as a "little person"? I put a lot of work into colleges, and
so do a lot of other people. If you think that my approach
is the same one that really corrupt manipulative people use why would
you wish to attend? I am looking forward to the event.

I get along with lots of different types of people, But it sounds
like you are not interested in learning anything about who I am.

If you would like to meet Roy or anyone else, perhaps it would be
best done at a time when I wasn't there.

On 3/25/11 1:00 AM I replied:

Let me clear up one thing to start with, I have never said that you
were "an insufferable jerk" or anything in that category. I have
never made my arguments against your character, always against your
actions or opinions. You're probably pleasant to hang out with.

I am planning to attend CC #20. I've never met you, but I expect to
if I am able to attend. I associate regularly with and enjoy the
company of people I disagree with on equally important topics. As I
said, reasonable people can disagree.

I have enjoyed and agreed with some of the things you have written,
and thought other things were just self serving nonsense.

My opinion is usually based on the evidence I have available. I don't
think my opinion of you on the topics we have discussed will change,
unless you were to recant a number of opinions you've expressed. I
don't see this as an impediment to a civil social and/or business
interaction. I think you honestly attempt to do what you think is
best. We just disagree on what is best.

If I attend #20 I expect to learn a great deal. I have learned many
things from professors who I had a low opinion of personally.

I believe Corvair Colleges are an act of love for aviation, which I
think you are truly passionate about. You have my respect for
putting out the effort it takes to do them.

I hope our correspondence has helped clarify the post, the reasons
for my opinion, and my expectation of future interactions.

If you wish to discuss this on the phone, let me know when. Or we can
continue our email.

Civilly Yours,

Raymond Julian, Kettle River, MN

Raymond,

I write this so you understand that you should make other plans well
I will be at Corvair college 20. It is a private event held in a
private hangar, and under such circumstances we are all free to
choose the company we would keep. I had hoped that things would be
different. I do not wish to spend my time there in some type of
conflict with you. If you hold a low opinion of me, that's your
choice. I have never sought to learn things from people I hold a low
opinion of. I don't hold a low opinion of people I disagree with. I
don't feel better than people I disagree with. I just feel different
and therefore choose not to share their company at certain times.

Thank you.

I will not attend CC #20 because you have asked me not to.

Will you continue to sell your products to me?
