Good Evening Rob and Brock,

May I suggest a short cut to John's articles and the course which he, Walter
Atkinson and George Braly provide in Ada, Oklahoma?

Deakin's stuff is great.

We run our 500B LOP. We made it well past TBO on chrome cylinders. During
some parts of our season we need to maximize our time in the air. We've got
consumption down to about 21.5 gph 22/21 at something like 156 knots. 23/22
gives us about ten more knots more for only a couple gallons. Pretty
convincing to watch EGT's and CHT's rise then fall on the lean side.

One thing we have found is that on our installation the 'spread' between the
richest and leanest cylinder is pretty big and in the same cylinders on each
side. Number 1 is richest and has the smallest injector GAMI will give us,
and number 5 the leanest with the biggest injector GAMI has for our
installation. It's almost there but not perfect. We thought maybe it was
just the one engine, but the rebuild on the left is almost exactly the same.
Anybody else?

Steve
