Has anyone considered installing electric flaps and wish to share why they did or did not install?
Drawing of how they installed
Parts used
Recommendations for changes to what they installed
Good or bad idea to use electric flaps?

Kit,
Glad I saw your post. We don't have electric flaps, and we are happy with the mechanical setup, mostly because you can get the setting you want immediately rather than waiting for the electric motor drive to do the job.
I do have a question for you. With the stock control stick setup we have on our present MYSTERIOUS MOOSE,if you try to roll left or right with the stick aft, you end up hitting the inside of your leg. That cuts off the last several inches of roll control. We do have 5 inches of free play on the stick before we would hit the instrument panel. By changing the length of the elevator cable we can take advantage of that and move the neutral point forward. However, we also may need to modify the stick itself so that we can get more deflection. Have you had any problem with this and found a solution?
We have flown off the required 40 hours and have had our phase 1 restrictions removed. We will be doing the float testing later this month, but we want to resolve the control stick problem before then. We think we have a handle on it, but we just want to check with anyone else, if they have a solution they have used. I don't think there's anything unique about our problem, so we think that other builders must have resolved this already.
Good to hear from you guys. How far along are you? We can send you pictures if you're interested.
Blue skies and all the best
