Hi all,

Does anyone out there know the AD on pulling the plug at the end of the crank to check for corrosion on a o-320-e2d? And is it a one time check or repetitive??

Thanks,
chris ambrose

The short answer is yes and no. Uncoated (not stamped PID) crankshafts have a repetitive inspection until coated or removed from service. If no pitting is found the SB has instructions on coating and marking the crankshaft and after the coating no inspection is required. The SB does not apply to engines shipped new after 2/15/1997. The recurring requirements depend on if the crankshaft is pitted or not.

Go here for a copy of the service bulletin.
