All.
I would like to suggest that everyone on the Lightning list take advantage of one of the freedoms that we in the USA are fortunate to have - the freedom of flight. It is not my intention to turn this into some sort of political statement, but in today's world environment we seem to see so many of our national freedoms eroding, as some agencies in positions of power seem to react without really thinking of the consequences of their restrictions. So I suggest that everyone roll out their favorite flying machine and go flying today to take advantage to the freedom of flight that we all love so much. And take someone with you. It will make you feel better and put a smile on your face. You might even be able to look down and see someone looking up as you fly over, knowing that they are probably wishing they were able to be up there with you.

Finally, as we reflect on our nation's birthday today, 4 July, we should remember the sacrifices of those who made our freedoms possible. Our men and women in uniform have been the ones to keep us free … and helped make us prosperous. I am reminded of an old poem – attributed to Father Dennis O'Brien – and if it were written today, it would have a footnote to say "soldier" is meant in the broadest sense – to include all those in uniform:
It's the soldier, not the reporter who has given us
Freedom of the Press.
It's the soldier, not the poet, who has given us
Freedom of Speech.
It's the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the
Freedom to Demonstrate.
It's the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the
Right to a Fair Trial.
It's the soldier who salutes the flag, serves under the flag and
whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who gives the protestor the right to burn the flag.

Blue Skies,
Buz
