I am new to the forum. I am not a pilot. I have assisted in a kit build of an allegro 2000 and would like to build my own ultralight... I have little knowledge of kit building of ultralights but would appreciate any direction on what, where, and how.....

Hi Randy,
I'd suggest finding the nearest Experimental Aviation Association
Chapter in your locale and begin attending meetings. Mutual builder
support is one of the
things that make building an aircraft so enjoyable. You build, learn new
skills and then have friends to fly with. The 701 is a light plane, but
doesn't qualify
as an ultralight. Those are maxed out at 254 lbs empty and do not
require FAA registration.
Your membership in the EAA will provide you with a good number of
suggestions for what, where and how and you only have to connect the
dots from there.

Very best regards,

Larry McFarland 601HDS at www.macsmachine.com
