Hello Remi

Thx. for sharing input on CDI triggger coil gap adjustment needed on your
912S.

"I strongly recommend that new builder check their trigger coils before
they hang the engine on the aircraft."

Has anyone found the gap needing adjustment on the 914s? (My motor is bout
9 months old)

Thx.
Ron Parigoris

Ron,

We will be pulling our 914 in the next couple of weeks. We will check the
gaps and report back then.

Tam

No. Ran just fine from the start. As far as I know, only the 912S is

reported to have starting problems. Not the 1200 cc engines.

Gilles

No the 912ul does too if you hang a heavy VP prop on the front!
Replaced my sprag clutch at 150 hours.

We had a lot of starting problems with our 912 - we were just about do dive
in and replace the sprag when Andy Draper suggested that we check the
Torsional Vibration Damper setting (dead easy and its part of the Rotax 50
hour check) - turns out that ours was set to about 200lb inches - Minimum is
300, suggested is 400. Gearbox off to Conair for a few days - when it all
went back together, starts on the button (runs a heck of a lot smoother now
as well).
