BTW did you find the kit badly made and rughly finished?

I did. My speed kit had various pieces where the gel coat wasn't sufficiently
applied when the parts were molded and the result left gaps that required
filling, a lot of filling. This was particularly true of the nose gear leg
fairing, which was also trimmed crooked on the top between the right and left halves
leaving a 3/16" gap between the halves. The main gear leg fairings and a
couple of the flap hinge faings also had gaps.

My nose wheel pant (spat) is molded asymetrical and it's very noticable. I'll
probably do something different with the nose wheel pant after I've flown a
while.

Some better directions for the speed kit would have been nice, too.

Right On John....
My nose leg faring was so badly deformed I got the clay out, made a
mold, then laid up another one. I fits better and should cause less
drag.
