Steve--
According to my Rotax owners manual, the 912A is the certified version of the 80hp version. Other than that it looks like everything else is the same as the 912ul----of course someone paid a lot more for it.
Now that it has been put on an experimental plane it is no longer certified for use in a GA plane but who cares.
Looks like you got a good engine.
Make sure you go to the Rotax owners site to check for all the service bulletins and insure you have them installed.
