My S7 for sale page now has a link to the details of the float rigging I've made. There is also a 12 second hot day light winds off the water on 80 hp video.

see: http://www.pipcom.com/~cowcam/s7.htm

Hi Peter,

Your rigging information was informative and your take off video impressive, but I was unable to locate your geometry page. My Kitfox 5 has just completed FAA phase 1 on wheels and my used Aerocomp 1400 amphib floats have been repaired and cleaned up. Any assistance you can provide regarding geometry and rigging would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Joel I haven't finished the geometry write up but will soon.
The main numbers that seem to work are fuselage datum or centerline inclined aout 3 degrees to float and step at or a little aft of the most rearward cg. There is a wide range of float stances and height above the float. If you already have the spreader bars then you will probably go with that. The Murphy rebel sits 31.5 above the float; one guy dropped that to 29; mine are at 24; many other Rans at 20 and the first one I had on Full Lotus was maybe16 or 18 (too squat looking. The dual water rudders on these Murphys are the best, shortest diameter turning I've ever had and so I would try to go with two rudders.
Want some of my parts or strut material?

The nice thing about having the fuselage sitting pretty high above the float is the ability to use longer props without having to worry too much about water abrasion. As with everything else there is a limit of diminishing returns.
