Fellow Aviators and Rocketmen,

Sorry to deliver the frustrating and bad news. I was on the EAA web site and read how President Bush is proposing to have GA pick up FAA user fees. I believe he wants to privatize the FAA to take it out of the budget, but keep on collecting the current tax revenues for the FAA in the budget, and subsequently divert the money somewhere else not related to aviation, cooking the books.

That means a list of new taxes:
1) 400% tax increase on a gal of 100 LL, .70 cents more per gal,
2) new registration fees,
3) landing fees,
4) Certificate fees, airman renewal fees, etc.,
5) Airworthy fees,
6) Weather briefing fees,
7) Flight planning fees and filing fees,
Cool The list goes on,,,, EAA said they'll tax u for 6 & 7,
even if u don't use them. They dont want u to have discretion
to save money by skipping the weather briefing and potentially
be unsafe.

I've spent 7 years building my HR-II,,, and bugging John about once a month, and now the SOB is going to try and tax my plane out of my possession. I'm the biggest right winger west of the Mississippi, and I built two right wings for my Rocket (couldn't stand to build a left wing) but Bush really pissed me off this time.

EAA said it like this. Your local afternoon pleasure flight will cost the average GA pilot $10 - $50 more bucks, and the long x-country flight will cost $300 or more.

I wrote my congressman, senator, and Pres Bush. I suggest you look into it for yourself. It'll make you mad if you love to fly because they got their hands on your flying money again.

Contact your fellow flyers. Get them pissed off too, so that they'll write their congressman also.

We'll lose our freedom and God given right to fly if we sit on this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please do something!

I read through the list of fees real quick but I didn't see a tax on the
air we breath...must have been an over sight.
