Yes, Ted's strut fixing is clever and very neat but  a little fiddly to construct and properly fit.

 I think I shall go for the simple reversed fitiing  if I can get clearance for it.

 Will redux and rivits do the job on the bracket or  will extra stiffening be needed on the door edge?
