Hi All,

I've got the 7.00-6 (Aircraftspruce #06-09600) on my Europa Classic. I'd like to change it as there are some radial cracks appearing in the tyre wall.

Being prudent I want to change the inner tube at the same time. So I ordered the replacement from Aircraftspruce.eu with the 06-09800 7.00-6 inner tube. Which is also mentioned in this forum as an acceptable tube

The issue I've hit is that the tube as supplied by Aircraftspruce has a straight valve, not a 90deg valve. The tube that is currently installed on the aircaft, from the previous owner, isn't a McCreary one. It says made in Taiwan with no other information.

Can anyone suggest a suitable inner tube and source for it?

Thanks

Jon

Hi Jon,

I got mine at Wicks Aircraft. I just checked the link and they seem to
be currently out of stock but at least there is a manufacturer name and
part number.

Thanks Martin, this is a good start and moves me forward, with a part number and manufacturer.

I have to admit wheel tyre/tube combinations are a mystery to me and I don't fully understand them.

The link you sent me is for a 6.00-6 tube. I have read elsewhere that you can undersize the tubes, but I can't find any clear guidance on how/when/where you can do this.

I'm wondering if I could get a 6.00-6 or a 7.00-6 tube with a bend. After I posted last night, I continued searching for a while and came across these guys (http://wattsaviation.co.uk/) : I might call them on Monday.

Best wishes

Jon

Jon,

The tube from Wicks will work.

Lately we have purchased tire and tube from Desser. Their website says Watts in the UK is an affiliate and has the same items.

We have purchased 700-6 6 ply Airhawk tire and TU 700/800-6 AM tube with TR-87 Valve. The TR-87 is the specification of the valve with bend. This tube seems to be better quality than the Chinese tubes like Wicks sells.

Thanks All,

I've dropped Wicks an email. So hopefully I'll get this resolved during business hours tomorrow and have a nice new inner tube soon Smile
