You sure do keep at it! Fun to watch it come together. What do you plan to power it with?

Taildrag: I have a rotax 503 to hang on the nose, but i have a plan to install it so it kind of looks like a piet with a model A engine, we will see if my plan works or not hopefully soon.

Kinda depends on whether it mounts inverted with the cylinder head down on the bottom (probably gives the best thrust line orientation to the top longerons), or if it installs upright with the head and plugs on top. If you install it that way, the engine will probably have to sit pretty tall to get the engine thrust line where it needs to be.

Alternatively, you could creep up a little bit from your 50HP 503 and hang a Rec Power 2-cyl, 2-stroke 625cc on it for 60HP and water-cooled, so you could keep the authentic Ford look with the radiator up in front of you ;o)

my plan is to mount it upright and use a belt reduction drive. so it will sit high lit the model A engine.

i got the second coat of varnish on the inside of the piece of leading edge plywood. Holes were drilled in the strut brackets and the spar to attach them and then the holes in the spar and the area where the brackets go was varnished. Spent quite a bit of time in the shop but mostly worked on small fiddly stuff.

When you boil it all down, the entire airplane is built by just a long series of little fiddly stuff!

the middle piece of plywood is cut, soaked and clamped onto the leading edge to form. I messed one piece up by cutting it too short so now have to order another piece. I did some more varnishing as well
