I have been asked by many people for pictures and I apologize I forgot
to post them. I have been having so much fun flying, and falling into
bed exhausted every night that I left the camera at the hanger.
Jesse and John I promise I will post the pics tonight for all to
see...as long as no one makes fun of the paint or lack there of!!!

That I do not know as he only has to paint a fuselage and emp, but I
will send an email and get a quote. What I did find out when calling
around is that it is a wide variable depending on what you wanted them
to do on the body work. If you have it nice and smooth, with very little
work to do you are looking at $6-7K, but if you need more filler and
have allot of smiles to fix, and do not know anything about fiberglass
like me, then you can count on a couple of extra thousand. All the
painters I talked to though were time and materials, so the wide
variables really depend on how much of the prep you do before. Me, I am
not a finish guy, so I would gladly spend more money not to have to
sand, where Tim was willing to spend the time and effort to get his
done. I just do not have that patience/ ability to get the fiberglass to
look right, I tried and then had a guy show me from the local boat shop.
I got so itchy and a wicked rash on my arms, so I stopped and left it to
the professionals.
Come by and look at the wings and you will see what I mean compared to
the fuselage.

Dan,

We promise to make fun if the paint is not there or is less than perfect.
After all you wouldn't want to think that we don't like you!
But it will all be good natured because we are a family!

As I would expect nothing less, I believe there are several flying for
more than a year without wheel pants, let alone paint. At least I have
those, no gear leg fairings, but I always believed showing a little leg
was sexy....

If I get the 25 hrs. flown off (halfway there already) and get my -10 to OSH this coming weekend, I fully expect it will be the recipient of a few snooty remarks, since it is sort of a calico airplane now with the control surfaces that I painted, some rattle can gray on the fiberglass (over UV smooth prime), and even some AZKO green here and there.

I am considering adding some Sharpie graffiti to it such as:

"Next stop paint shop"
"Why yes, as a matter of fact I'm not completely done with it yet"
"Please, no rude remarks -- you'll hurt it's feelings"
and the ever-popular
"At least it is flying. Is yours?"

N104LD 12 hrs on the meter, flying before and after work every day.

(Did my first aileron roll in it this morning. Definitely lacks the flickability of the 2 place RVs, but not too bad overall. Sort of like rolling a DC-3.)

You are always welcome to park next to me and we will be the twins,
mottled gray is a color right?
I thought what I would do is put a sign out that says ran out of money
during paint, will work for additional paint and fiberglass materials?
Or maybe " This plane is best viewed from 10K feet while passing by at
200mph?"
I really don't care because it is flying right? It is too funny that two
Dans, make their first flights two days apart, hows that for
synchronicity?
