Now that you all say that Vinyl Ester Resin was made for underground storage tanks, that triggers my memory more. Maybe someone with a glasairnews membership can search the old newsletters for "underground tanks" or similar.
I remember someone asking a question and Ted Setzer answering. If it wasn't about auto fuel with alcohol content (or MTBE?) it may have been a question about alcohol or Prist. (Maybe I was the one who asked the question, as I remember wondering about Low Flow Prist in our tanks.)
Even if our tanks hold up fine to ethanol, there's a subtopic of gasket compatibility in the rest of the fuel system.
