I've been pondering trying to make some of the tail hinges. Does anyone know a good place to get 2024-T3511 extrusions and bronze bushings in small doses?

I don't even know what T3511 means. I know T351 means solution heat treated, stress-relieved stretched, then cold worked, but I don't know what the extra 1 modifier is.

Well since nobody responded, I'll share what I've found.

It seems like Sequoia is the best place to get bronze bushings. The manual says that they supply plated bushings of the right type cheaper than any local supplier. I did find a local distributor of the right type of bushing but I'd rather get the plated ones, if I can.

The angle 2024-T3511 extrusion is available from wicks as are the correct rivets called out in the blueprints. I couldn't find anywhere online that had the correct T extrusion called out for a few parts, but I did find a local distributor that had the exact right stuff. I think the minumum they would sell me was 20 ft. of it, which was $175. Not too bad if you share with some other builders or something.

I still haven't decided what I want to do here yet. I think I'll try some of the simpler hinges and see how that goes.

Ryan,
I too had difficulty in finding small amounts of T bar stock of the right
dimension. Actually started to machine the parts from bar stock for the
flap hinges, if I recall correctly, but kinda lucked out in finding someone
who had those parts for sale.
