Icom A210 Squelch Adjustment

My Icom A210 comm radio won't close its squelch reliably when cold; it's OK when
it's warm. I have already tightened the squelch as much as possible using the
front panel controls. The service manual has a procedure to adjust the AM
squelch internally (service manual section 4-4) but requires the use of Icom's
"CS-A210 ADJ" software (service manual section 4-1).

And that's the rub.

Has anyone here been successful in obtaining this software? Since May 4 I have
been calling various Icom departments (Technical Support, Customer Support,
Inside Sales, etc.) and each refers me to the other until they finally decided
to refer me to a distributor since I am not a dealer, simply an end user. Icon
gave me a referral to their largest aviation distributor, EDMO but EDMO does not
have it in their system and has been waiting (for more than two days) for a call
back from Icon. Argh!

So I repeat: has anyone here been successful in obtaining this software? And
how did you do it?

Note that Icom sells a similarly-named but different and not useful product
(CS-A210 Programming Software). Also please note that I do not wish to send my
radio to Icom and suffer the downtime as well as the aggravation of their lousy
ribbon cable to the front panel.

Thanks,
Joe

Following up on my posting for the archives:

As a distributor, EDMO was able to elicit some information from Icon where I was not. Icon told EDMO the A210-CS ADJ software was bundled with the A210 Cloning Software and I ordered it from EDMO (along with a spare ribbon cable). It was pricey at $41 and shipping was exorbitant at $16 (for a CD-ROM) but I gritted my teeth and paid.

Within minutes of installing the software and plugging in my homebrewed OPC-1528R cable I was able to adjust the AM squelch in accordance with the service manual. Success!

The Icom A210 is a fine radio except for 1) the need for proprietary software to make adjustments, 2) the ribbon cable connecting to the front panel, and 3) the poor method it uses for monitoring a second frequency. Come to think of it, I guess that makes it a lousy radio!
