Hi All,

I am trying to install an air start distributor back onto an M-14P in a Yak-52.

I have the manuals, and I know what to do... It sounds not too hard, but it is almost impossible to do!

Has anyone actually refitted one of these? How??!!

The issue I am having is that you are covering up the part you have to get into the right place, in amongst the piping crammed into the back of the engine.

Help!!

Thanks in advance
Chris

I assume you have the correct tool to lock it all up ? If so , you simply set the master orifice ( #4 I think ) to 0.1 mm open (fine copper wire works ) beware some docs say 1.0 mm -that’s incorrect. You then bring the master cylinder up to the nominal value of after TDC ( it’s different for Chang vs M14 ) but about 9 degrees after TDC maybe ? Then slide distributer back on and remove tool reconnect air pipes. I did mine on a HS 6 - as per the manual and got it right first go. But it can be fiddly I heard. That’s the general approach. But check M14 specific details as the gear box ratio might influence the actual values. Cheers , Matt
