Since we have the oldest Allegro in the USA (400+ hours), I guess we are finding things before others with newer airplanes. Here is one that you can easily prevent.

Problem
The rivets on the seat bottom that hold the seat support web/straps to the fiberglass seat shell extend downward well below the straps and bear on the carpet on top of the main fuel tank. With time, these rivet protrusions rub holes through the carpet and would eventually rub a hole in the fuel tank top.

Our Solution
We cut strips of outdoor carpeting about three inches wide and glued them in place over the web/straps to cover the rivet protrusions. Eventually, the rivets will rub through the carpet strips but the thickness is such that the carpet will keep them from doing any more damage to the tank top carpet and the tank top itself. I suppose we could cut small holes in the carpet strips around the rivets but we did not.

There are probably other more elegant solutions but this was cheap, simple and effective.
