early builders  used the part T-1062 from Vans. Be advised that T-1062-1 is not the same part. It will not work unless you re clock your locking mechanism which requires removing the keyed area from your aircraft or making yourself another T-1062. The difference is the clocking of the square hole in the T-1062. The T-1062 is clocked to zero or parallel to the latch. The T-1062-1 locking square is larger and clocked at 45 degrees from the older version. My suggestion is make a new T-1062 from stainless with the correct dimensions if your aircraft is an early kit. Be advised also that the screw on the latch should be checked at annual even if you have used loctite.

Spruce’s new ignition switch includes door locks that have different clocking than the older Spruce locks. New locks are compatible with the new Van’s part, but not with the old part.
