did some more tinkering with the brakes, Made little parts to hold the cable while the peddles were pressed. I hooked up the cables and gave the wheels a spin to test them and they seemed to work.

Can you set up to spray it? Goes a lot faster, and more consistent coverage.

There has been an easy little setup, maybe one of Bill Rewey's ideas or maybe just an old-time solution to varnishing, where you get an inexpensive and fairly small paintbrush that can fit into most of the nooks and crannies of the ribs and sticks, plus a squeeze-handle oilcan, and a length of aquarium tubing to connect the two. Just get a ty-rap or zip tie to secure one end of the tubing to the brush handle so the end of it points onto the brush bristles and the other end goes on the nipple of the oil can. You can brush away with one hand and squeeze the oil can handle as required to flow varnish onto the brush as you go. Periodic refills of the oil can are necessary, but at least you're not having to dip the brush into the can of varnish and give it a wipe time after time after time. Worth a try (it's cheap enough), and some mineral spirits cleans things up when you're done. You can also add some mineral spirits to the varnish to thin it out a little so it'll flow out and soak into the wood quicker and easier. Again, worth experimenting with depending on the temperature you're trying to work in.

Make sure that whatever covering system you are using is going to be comparable with any varnish it will contact. Quite a chemical battle ensues if you try to put a dope or vinyl product over the top oven on catalyzed varnish I promise. Most of your Hardware varnish will dissolve or lift if exposed to solvents

I worked some more on getting the wings varnished. I plan to use the stewart system and I have talked to them to confirm the varnish i am using will work with their stuff.
I also took a break from varnishing to make the parts for the pulleys to the aileron control wires to attach to.

I was looking at your Heel brake pedals, and I was curious. Are you going to attach a return spring to bring the pedal back to neutral? I plan on using heel brakes as well and was curious about how you planned to deal with that.
