Has anybody installed the windscreen with screws only so that it is easily removeable?

Just thought it would be so much easier to access behind the instrument panel if the windscreen could be removed but how often do you have to do that

Your thoughts would be appreciated

Thanks

Mike

Mike
I bonded all of my windows in but I seem to remember seeing one that used the screws and a frame. Try checking out the completions photos on my web page and it might give you a name or clue.
Sounds like you are making progress and hope it’s going well.

It was John Petrie from South Africa that used the screws if I recall correctly.

Both of my TR1's and one of my TR4's had screwed in windshields. The screws do not go through holes in the windshield, only through a frame that holds it in. I highly do not recommend this and think it is a major safety issue. Much of the strength of the windshield is dependent on the bending load becoming a tension load and this does not happen if the windshield is only lightly clamped by a frame. If the windshield is bonded to a strong frame and then this is screwed in it may be safe.
