Bob:
From your description the brakes are plumbed up backwards from standard. I say this because the standard brake fluid flow is from the caliper to the passenger side (right seat) and then to the pilot side (left seat), terminating at the reservoir.
What this means is the first place for brake failure from low brake fluid would be the pilot side. Since you are failing first on the co-pilot side (right seat) that would indicate a reversal in the hose plumbing.
NOW! Is this a bad thing? I don't think so. So why would the plumbing be standard to have a failure on the pilot side first? Because the right seat/co-pilot may very well be an Instructor. The student side fails and the Instructor takes over.
So, the inspection procedure should be:
1 - Check fluid levels.
2 - Check for AIR in the lines.
3 - Check the thickness of the brake pads.
4 - Check for the calipers to be floating and not binding.
5 - BLEED the system from the bottom up.
6 - Make sure the reservoir is filling.
If all the above is good your system should be good and the brakes should work.

The right brake pedal of the right seat of my RV-6 has no effect. If one steps on it then it goes to the end without resistance and without effect. Both pedals of the left seat as well as the left pedal of the right seat work well. What could be the problem and how can I fix it?
The strobe lights of the wings work but that of the tail fin does not. That I imagine is a problem with the bulb which may be burned out. Are there any other possible issues that could cause this? Is there any way I can diagnose this without replacing the bulb? I wonder what kind of bulb I should use. Perhaps I should address this question to the Aero Electric List.
Thank you and best regards,
George Nielsen
