Dear Europa Gurus,
Any suggestions on what brand of paint product works best for our airframes? I have used these products in the past on othe Airplane projects:
My Zenith Zodiac-Akzo Nobel-epoxy primer and 2 part Polyurethane wished for better results
My friend's RV-6-PPG epoxy primer and 2 part Polyurethane- Nice product to work with and nice results
My friends Sonex-Stewart Systems Water based 2 Part Polyurethane-A BITCH to work with. Results good after a great deal of fussing/Re-do's.
Thanks for your time and consideration.

Jeff, I would recommend gel coat and in particular Swabilec - sprayed and
then rubbed down to a perfect finish with wet & dry. It is what most racing
gliders are finished with and they of course look for the ultimate finish on
their laminar flow surfaces. Regards, David Joyce, G-XSDJ.

Jeff,
After using K38 (PPG) high build primer and blocking down several times
I then used Sherwin Williams Geniuses automotive finish. One coat then
one wet coat and that was it. Looks good. However, If I had to do it
all over again I would use these...

Mike Loehle will be at Rough River and anyone is interested they can
sit in on a talk he's giving on his finishes to the Louisville EAA
chapter.
