Hello

Has any of the 701 plans builders here tried to make the longerons single piece ? , I'm thinking a stretch Dave's brake . Do you think it's possible to do that long bend ? .

Thx

DO NOT ARCHIVE

Not me, but I'm a kit builder. The supplied longerons worked well for us.

Sure it's possible, but no real advantage and harder to make. When you bend
a piece that long and that narrow, it sure would be easy to mess up. LRM

My brake is 9 ft 5 inches ( wanted 10, but the angle as is, was a good deal)so I plan on using .06" extrusion instead of the .04" bent longerons, or as a back up the two piece ones shown in plans.
