That may be true and then even a rudder pedal lock wouldn't do the trick. In that case I would probably use some sort of external control lock on the rudder itself.

I don't see any need for the Rudder lock since the weight on the nose wheel prevents the rudder from moving on the ground.

I've seen a video on how he does this with the supplied pitot tube. It may be on the EAA website.

That's what I plan to do as well and I'm going to go with the grove gear to save some weight added by the upgrade.

Don't use any flaps for takeoff. Full flaps will only make the nose heavier for takeoff.
